In the 1920’s, James and Agnes Annarella operated a small gas station and repair shop in Little Silver, NJ. On December 5, 1933 the 21st amendment, ending 13 years of Prohibition, was ratified. Sensing the opportunities James and Agnes secured a license to distribute beer. They named their new business Shore Point Distributing Company and began to sell Horton’s Beer. In 1934, Shore Point was appointed as a Schaefer Beer distributor.

Throughout the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s, Shore Point continued to grow through superior, award-winning service. This dedication led to growth in territory, acquisition of competitors, and the garnering of exciting brands like Schlitz, and Molson.

The 1980’s dawned, and so did an explosive period of growth for Shore Point. First was the acquisition of a leading brand, in a new, hot category, California Coolers. 1n 1987, Shore Point was awarded distribution rights for the Coors Brewing Company quickly followed by Corona and Samuel Adams in 1988. The company invested in a new fleet of trucks and broke ground on a 100,000 square foot facility in Freehold, NJ that opened in May of 1989. These investments made Shore Point a leader in the New Jersey beer distributing industry, and positioned them for even more growth and expansion.

Throughout the 90s, Shore Point continued to grow through acquisition of other wholesalers and a forward thinking, aggressive plan to acquire key craft and imported brands. In 2000, Yuengling joined Shore Point, quickly becoming one of the largest selling brands in the house.

In April of 2008, Shore Point debuted its wine and spirit division. This venture opened new territory and new opportunity for growth. In the years following, this division has enjoyed tremendous success with more to come.

In the summer of 2008, Shore Point opened the doors  of a brand new, 269,000 square foot facility.
